42CF Auditing and the IBM i

Log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

This presentation focuses on the concept and practice of ‘auditing’ in general and in relation to the IBM i. It will review various types of audits (eg, system, software) and commonly-used approaches to auditing. It particularly focuses on auditing as a process from the auditor's point of view, and reviews current trends in auditing.

A case study will be drawn upon to illustrate points, including publicly-available information from the Bernard Madoff Ponzi scheme prosecution case.

Please note this session is not a technical deep dive, but rather a 'big picture' view of the process of IT/IS auditing.

Learning Objectives:

1. Attendees will have an understanding of the functions of the different types of IT ‘audits’ (and IBM i-relevant)
2. Gain understanding of auditing as a more generalized process to support and enhance their auditing experiences
