FTP - everyone uses it, but what is it and how does it work?? This session addresses techniques for making the most of the FTP client on the system: how to trouble shoot common network problems associated with FTP; creating scripts; adding notes to results; evaluating success of transfers; how to create a dynamic script for file transfers using sample programs included in the handouts; and addressing security concerns.
New for 2019: finally an easy solution to doing SSH FTP!

Learning Objectives:

By the end of this session, attendees will be able to:
1.Describe the network interactions related to FTP Manage FTP transfer scripts
2. Programmatically handle results of transfers
3. Use FTP scripts with substitutable values
